Avnet LPGA in Mobile,AL

Hi Y'all

Once again, I am home in FL for a couple of weeks. I have loved being home and in one spot as much as I have but its not great for the momentum of the golf game. I can only do so much practice before I start getting bored.

Last week we were in Mobile, AL. We have been going to the Robert Trent Jones Magnolia course for 12 years now. We started playing there in 1999 as the Tournament of Champions and the last 3 years we have played it as a regular full field event. I have always enjoyed going to Mobile and playing the RTJ course. A couple of years ago, they redid the course and I have to say I love the changes and once the course matures over the next few years will be an even better course than it was originally. The past week for me was a little up and down. The conditions were pretty tough all week with quite a bit of wind which with the tree lined fairways made it very difficult at times. I'm not sure what was wrong on Thursday but I couldn't get anything going. I struggled throughout my game which showed in an opening 77. I rebounded with a 69 on Friday when I started to make a few putts. The weekend showed glimpses of good golf but I threw a couple of big numbers each day that really stop any good scores from being stopped. In a perfect world I would have loved there to be another tournament this week just to keep things going a little bit.

It was a sad week for the state of Alabama with the horrible tornadoes in northern Alabama. We had some not so nice weather on Wednesday during the pro am but it would never have occurred to me that while I was playing that afternoon that such destruction was happening just a few hours north. I really feel for the people who lost loved ones and/or their homes and possessions.

So the next couple of weeks will much the same as the last break I had. There will be plenty of practice etc, but I am also looking forward to hopefully getting out on my boat a few times. Hopefully I will get some good conditions to get out there. The fishing this time of the year is really good with the Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) and Wahoo running. So fingers crossed I will get out there and fill my freezer with some tasty fish!!

That's about it for now. Will let you know how the fishing goes!
