Off WeekHello Again
I'm back again to update you on what I have been up to for the past week...but first let me tell you where I am right now. I am sitting in Ft. Lauderdale airport getting ready to fly to San Diego to play this week's Samsung World Championship. Sounds pretty normal right? Well let me tell you its 11.20am and my day has been going for quite sometime. I have been traveling now for nearly 15 years playing professional golf and still I can make traveling blunders. I arrived just before 7am this morning for my flight out of West Palm Beach airport, only to find out that I had booked my flight for NEXT Monday and not today! Of course today's flights were all sold out, so now I am sitting here in Ft.Lauderdale waiting for my flight that is already delayed! I only have myself to blame so really all I could do was laugh at myself, buy another ticket and try to get out to CA as soon as I can. So to use this unexpected free time to full advantage, I have logged into KarrieWebb.com and thought I would get ahead of the game and update my journal for the week.
So this past week went by really fast! By the time I got home from Canada Monday afternoon and relaxed for a little bit it was already Thursday! I told you last week that I was going to try to get out on my boat...I did but didn't get out fishing which was a bit of a bummer but I got to catch up with a couple of good friends who had recently moved from Boston down to South Florida. We just went for a cruise on the boat for a few hours, stopping to go for lunch. It was a nice day and was really great to catch up with my friends who I hadn't seen for awhile. I'm excited that they have moved down here and that I will be able to spend time with them when I am home.
Football season started this weekend! Yay! I really love to watch all sports, which this weekend was full of and with the Dolphins season kicking off yesterday, it was really hard to choose what to watch. My Fins didn't get off to the greatest start though. The Atlanta Falcons took care of them pretty handily. I'm looking on the bright side for now, as last season they didn't look all that good through week 2 and then ended up being AFC East champs! So fingers crossed the same will happen this year after a not too impressive start.
I went to a Bruce Springsteen concert last night. I am not really a Springsteen fan, that's not saying I don't like his music, its just that I've never really gotten into it. I was asked to go with a few good friends who are to put it mildly HUGE fans. I have to tell you Springsteen is a great entertainer and it is amazing how long he plays for and the energy he and the band put out. It's also really cool to people watch and to see all his true fans really getting into it!
So apart from those couple of things, I did a little bit of practice to keep things going. I really couldn't do too much, one because it was so ridiculously hot!.....and secondly because this week we are playing on poa annua grass which couldn't be more different to play off than bermuda grass. The plan was to do a bit of short game practice this afternoon but with my change in flight schedule I will just put in a good couple of days work before we tee it up on Thursday. Everything still feels good from Canada, so I am hoping to continue the good form this week.
Enjoy your week everyone!
Karrie
