Off to Prattville

Hi Everyone

Well after 3 great weeks off, I'm finally headed back out on the road! I'm looking forward to playing again but I have to say the life of a semi-retired golfer is pretty good too!

So what did I get up to for the past 3 weeks? Well the first week, I had my Mum, sister Janelle and my niece and nephew, Olivia and Jy over from Australia for a week.  We had a great week!  We were in Orlando for a couple of days doing the Disney thing.  It was fun to watch my niece Olivia, who is four, meet all the princesses which was at the top of her priority list. I think the highlight of the day was the character lunch in Cinderella's castle.  I have to say at first I was a little taken back by the price of the lunch, but the food was great and of course the kids getting to meet the princesses up close and personal was well worth it.

After Disney, we went back to my house in South Florida for the rest of their stay. We mainly just hung out at the house, swam in the pool and went on the boat.  It was nice to have everyone over.  It was too short of a trip but I'm really glad my Mum and Janelle made the trip with both young children all the way from Australia.

After my family left, the next two weeks were back to practice and work out again but also a little fun. I was home for both Miami Dolphins prime time home games. They were supposed to be a lot more fun than they turned out!!  After a great start to the season, two very disappointing home games were not what we had in mind.  On top of the two losses, the loss to the Pats hurts the most!  I had a few bets with friends on that game and to be at the stadium and know the grief that was in store for me, was not fun!  I hope after the fins bye week this week that they turn things around.

The other fun thing I did this weekend was to take my boat up north to Stuart and stay over night at the Indian River Plantation resort.  They have a marina there where I docked my boat overnight and got a room in the hotel.  I had never ventured that far on my own before without the help of my good friend Tom Neumann.  So it was a fun experience and the weather was perfect for it.  I'm glad I made the time to do it.

So it wasn't all play time for the three weeks.  My coach, Ian Triggs was over for a couple days of hard work last week. We put in some long hours trying to get my game in good shape to finish off the year on a good note. We fine tuned a couple things in my swing and really did some good work on my putting and short game. I'm hoping that it all works nicely into my game starting this week.  I've played pretty good at the course in Prattville, AL so let's hope it continues this week!

Take care,
Karrie
