October 28, 2009
Hi Everyone
I know its been two weeks since I last posted what I've been up to. When I'm not on tour, I'm not sure my life is exciting enough to provide you all with a lengthy blog each week!
My two weeks home in Florida have really flown by and as I write this I am on the first leg of my flight to Tokyo, Japan. I am playing the first of my final 3 events of the year, the Mizuno Classic, next week. I am headed over early to do three corporate days with my biggest sponsor, Epson. My relationship with Epson has been ongoing for 9 years now and they have been a fantastic company to represent. I am always very busy when I am in Japan but I really enjoy my trips over there. I have always been very well received and welcomed and I really enjoy being in and continually learning about the Japanese culture. I find, in my experiences, that the Japanese people are such a loyal, honest and fun-loving race. I always look forward to playing there.
So....what have I been doing these past couple weeks?? Well last I wrote, I was heading to the Monday night football game between the Miami Dolphins and the NY Jets. WOW!!! What a game!! It was probably the best game by far that I have been to at Landshark (Dolphin) Stadium! For those of you who didn't see it, Miami scored a winning touchdown during a see-saw battle with 6 seconds left in the game. I have never heard the Dolphin fans so loud! It was awesome!
I thought just this past Sunday that the Jets game was going to be outdone by the game against the New Orleans Saints. When my friends and I were tailgating before the game, we didn't think Miami had much of a chance against one of the best teams in the league. Well for 3 quarters, the Fins had the Saints on the ropes! I think the crowd was even louder than the Jets game. Unfortunately the Fins had to play the fourth quarter, where they saw a 10 point lead turn into a 12 point loss! It was very deflating. So the Dolphins have a very big uphill battle from here to make the playoffs. They are a good team....I think even better than last year but they have played some tough teams and just haven't gotten the job done over 4 quarters.
I got out on my boat a couple times while I was home. I even managed to get my schedule and the weather good at the same time to go fishing for a few hours this past Monday. It wasn't a very successful trip out...no fish pictures to show you...but it was a great afternoon and the ocean was beautiful.
This past Saturday night, I went to see Jerry Seinfeld do his stand-up act. I have always loved Jerry's comedy. I was an avid Seinfeld fan when the show was on in the 90's and I will always watch the re-runs if I come across them when I'm flicking through the tv channels. I had never seen him do his stand-up act so I really looked forward to going. He didn't disappoint! He was great! I love laughing and I think its such a great talent to make people laugh.
So those are the highlights of the last two weeks. Other than that, I had some great dinners catching up with friends. I also enjoyed just hanging out at home. I had a few things to get done around the house, so it was good to get them done.
Of course there was some practice being done!! It was very windy in South Florida for most of my stay so again it wasn't the best practice conditions. My coach Ian Triggs is going to be at the tournament for a few days next week which will be good to get a quick tune up. I think things are pretty good but when you haven't played a tournament in 5 weeks you get a little rusty. By next Friday, I will be ready to go and I hope to have 3 good tournaments and have a great end to the year.
Looking back over this blog, I guess I have been pretty busy!! I might need to get back on tour to rest!! Lol! Not likely!
Take care,
Karrie
