September is here!Hi Everyone,
Well I can't believe its September!!! This year has just been flying and I'm a few days away from heading to England to get ready for the last major of the year, the Ricoh Women's British Open.
I'm not playing this week at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. It was a tough decision to make to skip this event because I absolutely love the golf course and have played well here in the past. I just thought it was a tough turn around to try to get to Liverpool and be ready to play by Thursday. I'm also going home to Australia right after the British for a few weeks for a couple of family celebrations. I will then be starting the Asian swing right after that, so it would have been along time in a suitcase if I had played this week.
Things have been going ok golf wise. I really thought I would carry some better golf into the last two events after the Evian Masters. The good golf was there but was never consistent enough to have any positive momentum going throughout either of the tournaments. So I was a bit disappointed not to have had better finishes when I was out in the North West. Hopefully I am just saving it for a good run at the British next week.
So since the last event in Canada, I have been home in Florida. Besides the first couple of days when Hurricane Issac was passing by Florida and the weather wasn't great, the weather has been pretty nice for this time of the year. I was able to get out fishing last Thursday which I was very happy about. Tom Neumann (who I go out fishing a lot with) and I took out Alison Walshe and my osteopath, Adam Olarenshaw. It was a beautiful day and although the ocean was pretty dirty and stirred up after the storm, we managed to find a few peanut dolphin schooled up under some debris. It was a fun bit of action and made for a very tasty lunch! You can't beat fresh blackened dolphin sandwiches!!!
Since Thursday, I have been doing some good practice and am excited to get to Liverpool and play Royal Liverpool. We haven't played a British Open here before but I have heard good things about it. I love playing links golf and enjoy the challenge of it. Hopefully the weather will be ok. I don't think you ever want the weather to be great...a little wind never hurt anyone!!...but you also hope it doesn't pour down all week. So we will see. I'm looking forward to it no matter what!
Ok..so that's it for now. I will check in with you when I'm down in Australia.
Take care, Karrie
