On my way to Arkansas!

Hi Everyone,

Well it’s that time again...sitting on a plane, leaving Florida and headed out to another tournament. It seems that sitting a plane promotes me into doing my blog. Could be that it’s the only time I sit down and have a couple hours uninterrupted?

Anyway, the latest......well my last road trip out to Portland, OR and Montreal, Canada wasn't great at all. Have to say I was very disappointed in both weeks.  The first week out in Portland is mind boggling me to me why I never play well out there. Portland is one of my favorite places to play on tour, yet after probably playing at least 15 tournaments out there, I only have 3, maybe 4 top ten finishes! On top of the fact that I just love Portland at that time of the year, I have liked all 3 courses that we have played out there and yet never really get it going.  This year was again the same sort of week. I had a solid first round when scoring seemed to be pretty hard for everyone but with a terrible second round it put me out of any chance of having a decent week.  My ball striking was pretty up and down for the week and although my putting was ok, I just didn't make the momentum putts I needed to.  It probably doesn't help that I only gave myself a few decent birdie chances a round which puts extra pressure on making them.

So I moved onto Montreal the following week.  I hadn't been to Montreal before so I was looking forward to seeing a new part of Canada. Unfortunately we didn't stay in the city as I thought we were so I didn't get a real feel for Montreal at all.  I guess I could have driven in there one day but in one word you could just say that I was....lazy!!

My play was pretty similar to Portland with inconsistent ball striking and putting. So I was really not pleased with how things went or how things have gone recently.  I'm hoping to turn it around a bit this week. I took a few days off last week but did some good work on my swing when I did practice.  I think what I worked on may take sometime to really stick but I think it will give me a good opportunity to have a good finish to the season.

As for away from the course, I unfortunately didn't get out on my boat which was a bit disappointing.  I did get a few things done around the house in preparation for my sister Katie and her family arriving on Sunday.  I am really looking forward to having them over for a couple of weeks.  We will definitely spend some time on the boat when they are here.

It’s an exciting period of time for me as far as sport watching goes.  The NRL finals start this weekend back home in Australia. My team the North Queensland Cowboys made the finals for the first time in a few years.  They've had a decent season so far so hopefully they can get there game in the best shape of the year for a run at the grand final!

Also the rugby world cup starts in New Zealand this weekend.  Australia is looking pretty good after winning the Tri-Nations Cup a few weeks ago for the first time in 8 or 9 years!  That would be huge if we won the world cup in New Zealand!  The Kiwis would absolutely hate that!

Finally, my absolute favorite American sport season, Football, starts this weekend as well.  I will be home for the Miami Dolphins Monday night football game against the New England Patriots!  I'm taking my brother-in-law with me who has never been to a game.  There is not a better atmosphere at the Dolphins game than when they play the Patriots and then add Monday Night Football into the equation and it should be pretty loud in there!  It’s a tough first game for the Fins but hopefully they can catch the Patriots not quite ready and give them a good run.  It would be amazing if they won but let's just say I would be a little surprised.

Ok, so that's it for now.  Let's hope for lots of birdies and Let's Go to the Cowboys, Wallabies, Florida Gators and Fins!!
